Noida: 115 people including the district surveillance officer caught coronavirus infection in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar on Tuesday. He is the fourth official in the district administration who have been infected by coronavirus. 

Earlier, the district’s chief medical officer had also found positive. The total number of positive cases has now reached to 2935. The district has recorded one more death due to Covid-19 on Tuesday taking the tally to 29, showed the official data.

23 patients were discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the overall number of recoveries to 1,785 in the district. As of now the number of active cases rose to 1,121, the data showed.

The district recovery rate declined to 60.81 per cent from 62.23 per cent on Monday and from 63.61 per cent on Sunday, as per the UP's daily health bulletin.

DSO Dr Sunil Dohre and his wife tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday after developing influenza-like illnesses (ILI) symptoms. He has been taken to an isolation ward in the Government Institute of Medical Sciences. The official of the health department said that his health is stable. In his absence, Dr Manoj Kushwaha will work as the DSO, the official said.

On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh reported 1,346 new cases and 18 deaths during the 24 hours period. The state tally of active cases stands at 9,514, while 19,627 patients have been discharged. Covid-19 fatalities in the state now reached 827.
