New Delhi: Delhi government on Thursday adopted Test-Track-Treat strategy to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the state. The order emphasised on the importance of ramping up of testing as there are more than 400 containment zones in the national capital.

Under this, it was decided that Rapid Antigen Detection Tests will be offered by all the dispensaries and polyclinics of the government between 9 am and 12 pm to all the eligible persons. It comes into effect immediately.

Persons with Influenza like illness (ILI) symptoms will be eligible for the test. Testing will also be conducted on asymptomatic direct and high-risk contacts.

Delhi has been reporting nearly 2,500 coronavirus cases every day. As per the government’s assumptions, there are at least 7-8 direct and high-risk contacts. These persons will be traced and tested. The authorities plan to test at least 20,000 people every day.

Rapid Antigen Detection Test will be undertaken in combination with Gold Standard RTPCR based molecule testing. If the Rapid Antigen Detection Test comes negative for the eligible person then RTPCR testing will be done to rule out false negative results.

HRGs include people above the age of 60 years or having comorbid conditions whereas SSGs include daily wagers, rickshaw pullers, domestic helps, auto drivers, taxi drivers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters and food suppliers.
