172 found coronavirus positive in GB Nagar; lockdown to begin today
Noida: 172 people were found positive of Covid-19 infection in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar on Thursday, taking the district tally to 3,178, the official data showed.
The district has recorded one more death due to Covid-19 on Thursday taking the overall number of deaths linked to coronavirus to 31, the health bulletin said.
The total number of patients discharged after recovery reached 2,136 with 125 patients getting discharged during the last 24 hours period in the district.
As of now, the number of active cases stood at 1,011, the data showed.
In a relief, the district recovery rate further rose to 67.21 per cent on Thursday from 66.81 per cent on Wednesday. It was 60.81 per cent on Tuesday, 62.23 per cent on Monday and 63.61 per cent on Sunday, as per the UP's daily health bulletin.
Meanwhile, The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a lockdown in the state from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday to check the spread of Covid-19 and other communicable diseases.
The movement of people involved in providing medical and essential services will be allowed in the state.
During this lockdown, all offices, urban and rural markets, business establishments in GB Nagar district will remain closed.
The borders of Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts adjoining Delhi will remain sealed and only those involved in providing essential services will be allowed to enter the district. Everyone else needs to get the pass issued by the Gautam Budh Nagar district administration to be allowed to come to Noida.
As on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh reported 1,248 new cases and 17 deaths during the 24 hours period. The state tally of active cases stands at 10,373, while 21,127 patients have been discharged. Covid-19 fatalities in the state now reached 862.
