Delhi-Noida border again witnesses traffic chaos after UP lockdown

Noida: Commuters, who travel between Delhi and Noida, have again started facing difficulties at the state border after lockdown was enforced in Uttar Pradesh on Friday night. There were huge traffic snarls at the border on Saturday.

Crossing the state border was a big task for the commuters ever since the first lockdown was imposed. They faced a lot of difficulties during the earlier phases of lockdown and Unlock 1.

However, during Unlock 2, the restrictions on the state border were lifted completely resulting in smooth traffic between Delhi and Noida.

The lockdown will continue till 5 am on July 13 (Monday morning). Till that time, only the vehicles used in essential services are allowed to enter Noida. Police are allowing no other vehicles.

Police are checking the identity cards. They are only allowing the vehicles which have the e-pass issued by the Uttar Pradesh government. Many commuters faced difficulties as they could not procure a pass in short notice of lockdown.

The traffic situation is expected to improve after the lifting of lockdown on Monday.
