Noida: Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budh Nagar on Sunday reported 64 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the district tally to 3,410, the official data showed.

The district’s overall number of deaths linked to Covid-19 counted to 33, the health bulletin said.

88 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours taking the district tally of recovered patients to 2,484.
The district’s number of active cases now declined to 893 from 918 on Saturday, the data showed.

The district’s recovery rate rose to 72.84 per cent from 71.58 per cent on Saturday, it said.

Meanwhile, GB Nagar Police arrested 64 people and registered 24 FIRs for allegedly violating the lockdown curb which was imposed across the state from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.

A total of 4,512 vehicles were checked across 200 checkpoints in the district and 1, 904 challans were issued, while 22 were impounded by the police. Around Rs 1,70,250 of fines were collected during the checking, the GB Nagar police said.

As on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh reported 1,388 new cases and 21 deaths during the 24 hours period. The state tally of active cases stands at 12,208, while 23,334 patients have been discharged. Covid-19 fatalities in the state now reached 934.

The state overall recovery rate was 63.97 per cent, down from 64.65 per cent on Saturday, according to the data.
