Noida: Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budh Nagar reported 167 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the district tally to 3,614, the official data showed on Tuesday.
The district’s overall number of deaths linked to Covid-19 counted to 35 with two more persons dying due to Covid-19 on Tuesday.
A total of 2,728 patients got recovered with 138 persons getting discharged after recovery from infection in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said.
The district continued to witness the decline in the number of active cases which counted to 851, down from 872 on Monday and 893 on Sunday, the data showed.
The district’s recovery rate further rose to 75.48 per cent from 74.10 per cent on Monday and 72.84 per cent on Sunday, according to official data.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to have complete lockdown on every Saturday and Sunday as the Covid-19 tally is increasing rapidly despite the government claim of carrying aggressive measures to prevent the spread of infection.
The government has decided to implement a lockdown every Friday night from 10 am till 5 am on Monday. Only those who are providing essential services and banks will be exempted during this period.
All the government offices, urban and rural haats, markets, commercial establishments would remain closed during weekends across the GB Nagar.
During this period, special campaigns would be conducted at the district level for sanitation, water supply and door-to-door survey by the local health department teams to check the spread of covid-19 and other vector borne diseases.
On Tuesday, 1,656 new cases and 28 deaths linked to the deadly disease reported, the state health department said.
The state death toll reached 983, while the total number of active cases stands at 13,760. With 778 patients getting discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours, taking the state tally to 24,981.
