New Delhi: A person was reported dead after the flooding caused by the heavy rains in Delhi on Sunday morning. His body was seen floating in the water near Minto Bridge area which was heavily flooded after the rains. 

The man was reportedly a pick-up truck driver. His body was spotted by a trackman working at New Delhi yard.

The rain has dropped the temperature significantly in the national capital. Many people shared the images of flooding caused by the heavy rains on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

The Safdarjung Observatory recorded 4.9 mm rainfall till 5:30 AM. The Palam weather station measured 3.8 mm precipitation.

Earlier, the weather department had predicted isolated heavy rains in parts of northwest India. It said, “Entire monsoon trough is most likely to shift northwards, closer to the foothills of the Himalayas during July 19-20.”
