Gurugram: Aiming to make the environment clean and green, the residents of BPTP Park Serene, located in Sector 37D, Gurugram, came together on Sunday morning to carry out a plantation drive at the green belt area adjoining their society.

About 80 residents of all ages, donning face masks, turned up at the venue to volunteer for plantation drive. Women, children and elderly people were seen enjoying while planting the saplings and vowed for the responsibility of nurturing them.

More than 300 saplings including Shisham, Kachnar, Gulmohar, Neem, Arjun, Imli, Legestonia among others were planted during the drive.

The plantation drive was organised by Go Green Warriors – a resident’s group working toward environment conservation.

“We were happy to see so many people coming out and participating in the drive as we needed more trees to keep our environment green and surrounding clean. The residents made a contribution for not only planting but also maintaining them for next six months,” said Nikesh Goel, a resident of the society.

The saplings were provided by the Forest Department, Gurugram.

Hemant Kumar, another resident of the society said, “Before the plantation, we carried out a cleanliness drive and removed the debris lying in the green belt area. With the help of MCG and the forest department, we arranged the 18 varieties of saplings. Every resident enthusiastically participated in the drive and contributed their bit in this noble cause as well.”
