Delhi recorded 1,118 new coronavirus cases taking the tally to 1,36,716 on Saturday.

New Delhi: After dropping fourth position in terms of total cases, Delhi has now slipped to twelfth position with respect to active cases among states in the country. One-and-a-half months ago, Delhi was at second position. 

Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday informed, “Delhi now stands at the twelfth position in the country. It was in the second position a month-and-a-half ago. The number of active cases in Delhi now stands at 10,705 (as on Friday).”

However, he also cautioned people against any complacency. He asked people to continue following the guidelines like hand hygiene and social distancing.

Delhi recorded 1,118 new coronavirus cases taking the tally to 1,36,716 on Saturday. Over the last one week, the number of fresh cases has grown by less than one per cent every day. 

On the other hand, 1,201 patients recovered from the deadly virus. A total of 1,22,131 patients have recovered in the national capital. The recovery rate has grown to 89.33 per cent.

There was also a drop in number of active cases. Number of active cases dropped by 109 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 10,596 active cases. 5,560 patients are in home isolation. 28 patients died from coronavirus on Saturday taking the toll to 3,989.

5,140 RTPCR and 13,014 rapid antigen tests were conducted on Saturday. A total of 10,50,939 tests have been conducted so far in the national capital. The positivity rate was 6.15 per cent. Meanwhile, the number of containment zones was drastically cut from 715 on July 27 to 496 on July 31.
