New Delhi: The statistics reflected a significant improvement in the coronavirus situation in Delhi on Monday. Delhi has now slipped to fifth position among states in terms of total number of coronavirus cases. 

There was a drastic decline in the daily new cases. On Monday, Delhi recorded 805 new cases taking the tally to 1,38,482.

The new cases have been constantly declining in the past few weeks in Delhi. The average was 1,116 for the week ending July 26. It has further declined to 1,010 as on August 2.

On the other hand, recoveries outnumbered the new cases. 937 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. 1,24,254 patients have recovered in the national capital so far. The recovery rate is almost 90 per cent.

As a result, the active cases declined by 149 to 10,207 in Delhi. It is 7.37 per cent of the total cases reported in Delhi. 

With 17 fatalities, the death toll reached 4,021 in the national capital.

3,904 RTPCR and 6,229 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
