New Delhi: The Delhi government has begun preparations for delivering rations to homes of eligible beneficiaries. Now, the government is looking for partnership with private companies like JioMart, BigBasket and Grofers for this purpose.

As per the government, there are plans to deliver rations to 1.7 million households in the national capital.

The government of NCT conducted online meetings with few of the companies and also wrote letters to others to check their willingness in joining the scheme.

The Delhi government plans to provide subsidised and packaged wheat flour, rice and sugar.

Last month, the Aam Aadmi Party government had approved the proposal to deliver monthly rations to eligible beneficiaries in the state.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that the ‘Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana’ will be rolled out in the next six to seven months.
