New Delhi: After new coronavirus cases fell significantly to 674 on August 4, the daily infections again registered above 1,000 mark on all the days until Saturday. 

Delhi recorded 1,404 new cases taking the tally to 1,44,127 in the last 24 hours.

From August 5 onwards, the daily new cases have been in four digits. Delhi reported 1,076 cases on August 5, 1,299 on August 6 and 1,192 on August 7.      

As the new cases are increasing, it has outnumbered the recoveries as well in all these days. It is quite opposite to what Delhi had been witnessing since the start of July. New cases seldom exceeded the recoveries in the last one month.

1,130 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,29,362 patients have recovered from the deadly virus in the national capital so far.

For the fourth straight day, active cases increased in Delhi. Active cases increased by 258 taking the total to 10,667 on Saturday.

As far as the fatalities are concerned, 16 patients died from the coronavirus taking the toll to 4,098 in the national capital.

Delhi has a positivity rate of 5.7 per cent. The recovery rate stands at 89.75 per cent. Out of the total number of beds, 10,469 beds are currently unoccupied. 

On Saturday, Delhi conducted 19,902 rapid antigen tests and 5,500 RTPCR, CBNAAT and True NAAT tests. A total of 24,592 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours. A total of 11,68,295 tests have been conducted in the national capital so far.

Meanwhile, the Union health secretary conducted a meeting through video conferencing with health departments of Delhi to review the measures incorporated to contain the coronavirus spread.
