Noida: The Uttar Pradesh government has made provision of electric vehicle charging stations mandatory at the premises of all the future big housing and commercial projects coming in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida. 

The decision has been taken to encourage the use of electric vehicles in the cities.

It was made mandatory for all big-ticket projects coming up on more than 5,000 sq mt land.

The CEO of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) Narendra Bhooshan the provision of electric charging station was made mandatory at all the apartment complexes, commercial buildings and IT parks.

“In fact, we have already asked all the fuel and gas stations operating out of Greater Noida to see if it is feasible to add a charging station on their premises. We have to create an ecosystem to promote the usage of such vehicles in the next five years,” Bhooshan was quoted as saying by the TOI.

The state industries department directed the CEOs of Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Authority to take steps to promote Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Policy.
