New Delhi: Delhi recorded 1,276 fresh coronavirus cases taking the cumulative tally to 1,51,928 on Saturday. With 10 fatalities, the death toll reached 4,188 in the last 24 hours.
The new cases exceeded the recoveries again as it has been happening in the last few days. 1,143 patients recovered from the deadly disease in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,36,251 patients have recovered so far in the national capital.
Active cases increased by 123 in the last 24 hours. Delhi has now 11,489 active cases. Out of that, 5,809 are in home isolation.
18,271 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. 5,667 RTPCR tests and 12,604 rapid antigen tests were conducted on Saturday. Delhi’s total number of tests conducted rose to 12,91,411.
Total number of containment zones are 538 in the national capital.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that there are no plans to open schools anytime soon. He said that the Delhi government will not open schools unless it is fully convinced about the improved Covid situation in the national capital.
During his Independence Day speech, Kejriwal said that the city’s coronavirus situation is quite under control as compared to what it was two months back. He also thanked all the stakeholders including the Centre, corona warriors and different organisations.
