Delhi: Hotels, weekly markets allowed to open; gyms to remain shut

New Delhi: After a long tussle between the Delhi government and Lieutenant Governor, hotel and weekly markets are finally going to open in the national capital. But gyms and yoga institutes will continue to remain closed.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) approved reopening of all the hotels in the city. On the other hand, weekly markets were allowed to open on a trial basis.

However, people will have to adhere to the Covid guidelines issued by the authority. The visitors will have to maintain social distancing and take necessary preventive measures.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Health Minister Satyendar Jain and AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria.
