Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 84 new cases of Covid-19, taking the cumulative tally to 10,542 in the district on Wednesday, according to the district health department.

The death toll due to coronavirus climbed to 131 as one more person succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said.

As many as 92 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, pushing the overall recoveries to 9,657 in the district. The recovery rate slightly improved to 91.60 per cent from 91.46 per cent on Tuesday. It was 91.79 per cent on Monday and 91.97 per cent on Sunday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, there were 754 active cases across the district, of which, 15 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals. 87 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres whereas 20 are under observation at district Covid care centre. 632 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded a single-day highest with 994 new cases nearing the 50,000 mark of the state tally. 10 deaths linked to coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours. The overall number of positive cases has now reached to 49,930, while the deadly virus has claimed 567 lives so far in the state, the state health bulletin said.

As many as 758 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recovered patients to 42,056 in the state. The state’s recovery rate slightly dipped to 84.23 per cent from 84.39 per cent on Tuesday and 84.53 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

At the moment, the number of active cases stood at 7,307. The number of positive patients in critical care counted to 158, among these, 142 patients are on oxygen support, while 16 on ventilators.

The state’s Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 5.65 per cent while the fatality rate stood at 1.14 per cent. The state doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 32 days.
