Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 120 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Friday, taking the cumulative tally to 10,756, while, the death toll counted to 131, according to the district health department.

As many as 65 patients were treated and discharged in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall recoveries to 9,814 in the district. The recovery rate slightly dipped to 91.24 per cent from 91.66 per cent on Thursday. It was 91.60 per cent on Wednesday, 91.46 per cent on Tuesday, 91.79 per cent on Monday and 91.97 per cent on Sunday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, there were 811 active cases across the district, of which, 17 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals. 81 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres whereas 8 are under observation at district Covid care centre. 705 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, the Haryana government on Friday decided to shut all the offices and shops in the state on every Saturday and Sunday amid the rising coronavirus cases. The order, issued by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), stated that all public and private offices except those dealing with essential services will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday throughout the territory of Haryana. 

Moreover, all shopping malls and shops in the market area, except those dealing with essential goods and services, will be closed during the weekend.

As on Friday, the state recorded single-day highest fresh cases of 1,203, pushing the state tally of positive cases to 52,129. For the five consecutive days, there has been a huge surge in the positive cases, it was 996 on Thursday, 994 on Wednesday, 896 on Tuesday and 887 on Monday.

The state death toll counted to 585 as seven more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

As many as 620 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recovered patients to 43,413 in the state. The state’s recovery rate slightly dipped to 83.28 per cent from 84.03 per cent on Thursday. It was 84.23 per cent on Wednesday, 84.39 per cent on Tuesday and 84.53 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

At the moment, the number of active cases stood at 8,131. The number of positive patients in critical care counted to 203, among these, 177 patients are on oxygen support, while 26 on ventilators.

The state’s Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 5.67 per cent while the fatality rate stood at 1.12 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 33 days.
