Greater Noida: To make the most of the ongoing monsoon season, the residents of Spring Meadows, located in Tech Zone 4 of Greater Noida West, carried out a plantation drive on Sunday.
A group of nature enthusiasts participated in the drive, during which, several varieties of medicinal and fruit bearing plants including Arjun, Amla, Guava, Bel-Patra among others were planted in the society.
Along with planting the trees, everyone pledged to preserve them and urged others to plant at least one sapling on each festival to enhance the greenery in the vicinity.
Jai Gupta, a resident of the society said, “Trees are a precious gift of nature and its protection is the duty of every person. We are conducting plantation drive time to time in and around the society and encourage others to follow the suit as it is really important to do our bit considering the deteriorating environment.”
Vikash Katiyar, a social worker and resident said, “We have planted around 32 plants in the society through voluntary funding. Also, we have coordinated with the district forest department and planted 100 saplings on the 1.5 km stretch adjoining our society.”
