New Delhi: Delhi on Friday reported 1,808 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the cumulative tally to 1,69,412. With 20 fatalities, the death toll reached 4,389 in the last 24 hours.
This is the second consecutive day when new cases were above 1,800.
22 deaths and 1,840 new cases were reported on Thursday. It was the highest single-day spike in August.
On the other hand, 1,446 patients recovered from the deadly disease on Friday. A total of 1,51,473 patients have recovered in the national capital so far. The recovery rate was over 89.41 per cent.
The active cases increased by 342 in the national capital. Delhi has now 13,550 active cases. The number of people under home isolation is 6,850.
The positivity rate was 7.8 per cent. It dropped to 5.2 per cent on August 17.
16,013 rapid antigen tests and 6,920 RTPCR, CBNAAT and True NAT tests were conducted on Tuesday. A total of 22,933 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.
The total number of tests done till date stands at 15,26,655. The number of tests done per million was 80,350. The number of containment zones stood at 763.
Out of the total number of beds in Covid hospitals, 10,234 are vacant.
