New Delhi: Delhi on Wednesday reported 2,509 fresh coronavirus cases, which is the highest single-day in two months, taking the cumulative tally to 1,79,569. With 19 fatalities, the death toll reached 4,481 in the last 24 hours.

The last time Delhi recorded more than 2,500 fresh cases was on July 3. On Tuesday, the national capital had recorded 2,312 new cases. 

On the other hand, 1,858 patients recovered from the deadly disease on Wednesday. A total of 1,58,586 patients have recovered in the national capital so far. The recovery rate was 88.31 per cent.

The active cases increased by 632 in the national capital. Delhi has now 16,502 active cases.

The positivity rate stood at 8.7 per cent. The number of containment zones jumped to 894 on Wednesday from 846 the previous day.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) decided to set up testing camps at all inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs), railway stations and major construction sites within a week.
