Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 224 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 12,521, according to the district health department. The district has witnessed a huge spike in new cases with more than 100 cases being recorded on a daily basis since August 25.

With two more persons succumbed to the deadly disease, the death toll jumped to 135 in the district, the health bulletin said.

The district’s overall recoveries counted to 11,121 after 102 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period. The district’s recovery rate slightly dropped to 88.81 per cent from 89.60 per cent on Wednesday. 
It was 90.25 per cent on Tuesday, 90.54 per cent on Monday, 90.69 per cent on Sunday, and 90.92 per cent on Saturday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, the total number of active cases climbed up to 1,265 from 1,145 on Wednesday and 1,048 on Tuesday. Of the total active cases, 19 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 132 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 26 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 1,088 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana crossed the mark of 70,000 with a single-day spike of 1,881 new cases, taking the state’s tally of positive cases to 70,099, according to the state health bulletin.

The death toll counted to 740 as 19 more patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours. The state’s overall recoveries counted to 55,889, while the total number of active cases stood at 13,470.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 79.73 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 5.78 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.06 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 33 days.
