Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 213 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, the highest single-day spike in September, taking the district’s cumulative tally 8,686, according to the official data.

According to the health bulletin, the number of active cases rose to 1,299 from 1,188 on the previous day. The district has witnessed a steady rise of active cases over a week with 1,163 on Thursday, 1,114 on Wednesday, 1,067 on Tuesday, 1,055 on Monday, 1,009 on Sunday and 1,002 on Saturday, as per the data.

However, in a relief, the death toll kept intact at 46 and fatality rate stood at 0.52 per cent, as per the official data.

As many as 94 patients have been recovered during the last 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,341. The recovery rate slightly dropped to 84.51 per cent from 85.44 per cent on Friday. It was 85.49 per cent on Thursday, 85.86 per cent on Wednesday, 86.20 per cent on Tuesday, 86.18 per cent on Monday, and 86.54 per cent on Sunday, as per the statistics.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 6,692 fresh cases, pushing the state’s tally to 2,59,765, while the death toll counted to 3,843, as 81 persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the total caseload, 1,95,959 patients were treated and discharged so far, while there are 59,963 active cases across the state. The state’s recovery rate counted to 75.43 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.47 per cent.
