Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally crossed the mark of 9,000 with 236 more people testing positive of Covid-19 on Tuesday, it is the single-day highest figure so far, taking the district’s total infection count to 9,126, according to the official data.

There has been an upward trend in the daily number of positive cases in the district and within a period of eight days, it has added more than 1,000 cases. On September 1, the district’s tally stood at 8,058.

Also, the number of active cases further rose to 1,599 from 1,520 on Monday. It was 1,429 on Sunday, 1,299 on Saturday, 1,188 on Friday, 1,163 on Thursday, and 1,114 on Wednesday, as per the data.

As many as 141 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,480. The recovery rate slightly dropped to 81.96 per cent from 82.40 per cent, the data showed.

The district’s death toll counted to 47 and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.51 per cent, slightly better from 0.52 per cent on Monday. It was 0.53 per cent on Sunday, 0.52 per cent on Saturday, 0.54 per cent on Friday and 0.55 per cent on Thursday, as per the data.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 6,743 fresh cases, pushing the state’s tally to 2,78,473, while the death toll counted to 4,047, as 73 persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the total caseload, 2,11,170 patients were treated and discharged so far, while there are 63,256 active cases across the state. The state’s recovery rate counted to 75.83 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.45 per cent.
