Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded its highest single-day spike with more than 238 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 9,356, according to the official data.

The district’s death toll jumped to 48 as one more person succumbed to deadly infection in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said. The fatality rate among the positive cases in the district remained 0.51 per cent.

The number of active cases further climbed up to 1,696 from 1,599 on the previous day. It was 1,520 on Monday, 1,429 on Sunday, 1,299 on Saturday, 1,188 on Friday, 1,163 on Thursday, and 1,114 on Wednesday, as per the data.

As many as 132 patients were treated and discharged during the 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,612. The recovery rate slightly dropped to 81.35 per cent from 81.96 per cent on Tuesday and 82.40 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 6,711 fresh cases, pushing the state’s tally to 2,85,041, while the death toll counted to 4,112, as 66 persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the total caseload, 2,16,901 patients were treated and discharged so far, while there are 64,028 active cases across the state. The state’s recovery rate counted to 76.09 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.44 per cent.
