Integrated control room introduced to manage waste effectively in Noida

Noida: In order to manage the solid waste effectively, the Noida Authority on Wednesday launched an integrated control room. The control room will be monitoring the waste collection, transportation and remediation of waste at Sector 145 plant near Noida-Greater Noida expressway.

The control room was made in consultation with the HCL Foundation at Sector 39 in Noida.

The CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari expressed happiness after inauguration of the control room. She said, “The control room will help in increasing effectiveness of solid waste management. It will also help our employees to improve the quality of life of residents living in the city.” 

Moreover, the authority has also begun a mobile application – Citizen Grievance Redressal – to take care of the complaints raised by the residents. 

There are 18 grievance categories in the application for residents’ perusal. It is according to the definition of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The grievances such as – open dumping, dead animal management, open urination and defecation – will be addressed through the mobile application. The residents will be able to raise complaints and get it resolved. 

Noida has 165 sectors and 65 villages. 900 metric tonnes of waste are produced on a daily basis.
