Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 204 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 9,808, according to the official data.

The number of active cases jumped to 1,909 from 1820 on Thursday. It was 1,696 on Wednesday, 1,599 on Tuesday, 1,520 on Monday, 1, 429 on Sunday, and 1,299 on Saturday, as per the data.

As many as 114 patients were treated and discharged during the 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,851. The recovery rate further dropped to 80.04 per cent from 80.55 per cent on Thursday. It was 81.35 per cent on Wednesday, 81.96 per cent on Tuesday and 82.40 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

So far, the district has recorded 48 deaths linked to the deadly virus and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.48 per cent better from 0.49 per cent on the previous day.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded another high single-day spike with 7,103 just after recording 7042 on the previous day, pushing the state tally nearly to 3,00,000 mark.

Of the state’s total caseload 2,99,045, there are 67,321 active cases, while 2,27,442 patients have been recovered so far.

The state’s death toll counted to 4,282, as 76 persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours. The state’s recovery rate counted to 76.05 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.43 per cent.
