Noida: Concerned over increasing incidents of chain snatching, thefts, the Noida chapter of Confederation of NCR Residents Welfare Association recently held a virtual meeting with the official of Noida Police to discuss various issues ranging from increasing criminal activities to traffic jams, encroachments and unchecked commercial activities.
Joint Commissioner Lav Kumar along with the team of officials including DCP Rajesh Kumar, ADCP Ranvijay Singh and several others joined the virtual meeting to listen to their problems and redress issues relating to policing.
The members of Noida chapter of CONRWA including President PS Jain, Convener Retd Brig Ashok Hak, Secretary Rajiv Garg among others were present during the meeting.
At the virtual meeting, several issues such as encroachment of roads and pavements, traffic congestion, disobedience of traffic rules, open drinking in market places, haphazard parking, women safety, thefts in residential areas and chain snatching were raised by the members of CONRWA.
The issue of dark spots across the city dominated the meeting with residents claiming that such spots encourage criminals to commit crime as the victims become their easy target. The members of CONRWA have suggested increasing the patrolling in such areas as that will act as a deterrence to the criminals.
Some residents stressed upon the need for regular meetings between the RWA officials and police to ensure safety and security in the residential areas. They also highlighted the issue of verification of security agencies operating at various sectors.
Joint Commissioner Lav Kumar noted all the issues and assured the residents that all possible steps would be taken to improve the law and order in the city.
“We have raised several issues pertaining to safety and security in the city and urged the Noida police to initiate effective measures to take care of it. Also, the police officials take note of our suggestions and assure us that appropriate action would be taken to ease our problems,” said PS Jain, President of CONRWA.
