Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally crossed the mark of 10,000 with 198 more people testing positive of Covid-19 on Saturday, pushing the district’s total infection count to 10,006, according to the official data.

There has been a huge spike in the daily number of cases in the district with 2,261 cases added in the total infection tally since September 1.

Also, the number of active cases has further increased to 1,990 from 1,909 on Friday. It was 1820 on Thursday, 1,696 on Wednesday, 1,599 on Tuesday, 1,520 on Monday, 1,429 on Sunday, and 1,299 on Saturday, as per the data.

As many as 117 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,968. The recovery rate further dropped to 79.63 per cent from 80.04 per cent on Friday. It was 80.55 per cent on Thursday, 81.35 per cent on Wednesday, 81.96 per cent on Tuesday and 82.40 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

However, the district’s death toll counted to 48 and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.47 per cent, better from 0.48 per cent on Friday and 0.49 per cent on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh crossed the mark of 3,00,000 with 6,846 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s tally to 3,05,831, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 67,955 active cases, while 2,33,527 patients have been recovered so far.
The state’s death toll counted to 4,349, as 68 persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours. The state’s recovery rate counted to 76.35 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.42 per cent.
