223 fresh coronavirus cases in GB Nagar; recovery rate at 81.18 pc

Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 223 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the district’s cumulative tally to 10,705 on Wednesday, according to the official data.

Also, 185 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 8,691, the health bulletin said.

The recovery rate slightly improved to 81.18 per cent from 81.14 per cent on Tuesday. It was 80.38 per cent on Monday, 79.82 per cent on Sunday, 79.63 per cent, 80.04 per cent on Friday, and 80.55 per cent on Thursday, the data showed.

Barring the last two days which saw a downward trend in the active cases, the current number of active cases in the district once again rose to 1,966 from 1,928 on Tuesday. It was 1,979 on Monday, 2,008 on Sunday, 1,990 on Saturday, 1,909 on Friday, and 1,820 on Thursday, as per the data.

So far, the deadly disease has claimed 48 lives in the district and the fatality rate, among the positive cases, stood at 0.44 per cent, better from 0.45 per cent on Tuesday. It was 0.46 per cent on Monday and 0.47 per cent on Sunday, the data said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 6,337 new cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 3,30,265, while the death toll rose to 4,690 as 86 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 67,002 active cases, while 2,58,573 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 78.29 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.42 per cent.
