Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally rose to 11,217 on Saturday as 174 more people tested positive of the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the official data.

However, in a relief, 202 patients were treated and discharged during the 24 hours period, taking the overall recoveries to 9,329, the health bulletin said.

This is the second successive day when the district has recorded more recovered patients than the daily positive cases.

The district’s recovery rate further improved to 83.16 per cent from 82.64 per cent on Friday. It was 81.18 per cent on Thursday and Wednesday, 81.14 per cent on Tuesday, and 80.38 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

With the recoveries of 202 patients, the number of active cases dipped to 1,840 from 1,868 on Friday, 2,004 on Thursday, and 1,966 on Wednesday, as per the data.

The district’s death toll counted to 48 and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.42 per cent, better from 0.43 per cent on Friday, 0.44 per cent on Thursday and Wednesday, it showed.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 5,827 new cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 3,48,517, while the death toll rose to 4,953 as 84 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 66,874 active cases, while 2,76,690 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 79.39 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.42 per cent.
