Noida: With 286 more patients getting discharged in the last 24 hours, highest single-day recovery so far, the overall recoveries in the Gautam Budh Nagar reached to 9,615 on Sunday, according to the official data.

The day saw 125 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the district’s cumulative tally to 11,342, while the death toll rose to 49 as one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said.

In the last three days, the district has recorded more recoveries than the daily positive cases. The number of active cases further dropped to 1,678 from 1,840 on Saturday with recoveries exceeding the total number of new cases.

The district’s recovery rate further improved to 84.77 per cent from 83.16 per cent on Saturday. Over a week, the district has witnessed a gradual increase in the recovery rate with 82.64 per cent on Friday, 81.18 per cent on Thursday and Wednesday, 81.14 per cent on Tuesday, and 80.38 per cent on Monday, the data showed.

However, the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.43 per cent down from 0.42 per cent on Saturday, it showed.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 5,809 new cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 3,54,275, while the death toll rose to 5,047 as 94 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 65,954 active cases, while 2,83,274 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 79.95 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.42 per cent.
