Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 405 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the district’s tally to 17,828, according to the district health department.

The district’s death toll jumped to 160 as one more person succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said.

As many as 392 patients were treated and discharged during the day, increasing the overall recoveries to 14,875. The recovery rate slightly improved to 83.43 per cent from 83.12 per cent on Saturday. It was 82.93 per cent on Friday and 82.82 per cent on Thursday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, the number of active cases slightly rose to 2,793 from 2,781 on Saturday. There has been a continuous rise in the number of active cases over a week with 2,755 on Friday, 2,720 on Thursday, 2,654 on Wednesday, 2,439 on Tuesday, and 2,317 on Monday, as per data.

Of the total active cases, 25 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 214 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 31 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 2,523 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 2,305 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,11,257, while the death toll rose to 1,149 as 29 more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, 88,697 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases stood at 21,411.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 79.72 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 6.64 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.03 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 26 days.
