Noida: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that country’s biggest film city will be established in Gautam Budh Nagar district. The decision to establish a dedicated film city was taken to generate employment in the area and provide a haven to filmmakers. 

The shooting of films and web series has increased in the state of late. The proposal for establishing a dedicated film city is yet to be prepared. But Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has already started to look for appropriate land for the project.

While making announcement, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The film city will not only provide better opportunities to filmmakers but also job opportunities to the youths from the state.”

According to the UP Film Policy, 2018, the state government will support the establishment of film cities by providing land at industrial rates. The government will also facilitate development of the infrastructure. 

The new film city will also have a police station to ensure safety and security of filmmakers. The road infrastructure and fire station will also be developed by the state government.

A film city has already been operational in Noida’s Sector 16 A. It is spread over 100 acres and houses several studios belonging to the media houses.
