New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that the second wave of coronavirus has reached its peak and cases will decline in the coming days in the national capital.
“Experts feel that the number of cases will decline in the coming days,” said the CM.
Confirming that Delhi has witnessed a second wave of coronavirus, Kejriwal said that the sudden spike in cases crossing 4,000 was the second wave of the disease.
“On September 16, Delhi had recorded close to 4,500 cases. After that, the cases started to decline and in the last 24 hours, 3,700 cases have come up in the national capital. In the coming days, the numbers will decline further,” Kejriwal said.
The CM also said that the daily testing of samples for Covid-19 has been increased in the city to 60,000 per day from the earlier 20,000 per day.
The recent upsurge in new infections started since the last week of August. However, in the last four days, the daily new cases figures have been less than 4,000 mark.
