Noida: To keep the artists, sculptors and pundits in high spirits amid the rising concern over the world wide spread of coronavirus, a Noida-based organisation is set to donate generously in the coming festival season. They said that finance should not be a problem for their associates during the festival season.

A member of the organisation named 'Balaka Durgotsav', based in Block E of Sector 61, said that the festival is a means for them to earn livelihood as they do a lot of work such as making sculptures, decoration of pandals, lighting etc.

“But they may not have similar opportunities to meet expenses in the festival season. It is because the government has already imposed restrictions on social gatherings at public places during festivals,” he said.

Anuj Chakraborty, an active volunteer of the organisation said that they would celebrate Durgotsav following all the instructions from the government like maintaining social distancing.

“But the contributions made by individuals would be donated to all artists, sculptors, and pundits. It is because they used to make their celebration a successful one. But this time, their involvement is restricted due to restrictions,” he said.

He continued, “We have already decided to donate collection from individuals among all associates who will be busy in making sculptures, pandals, decorations, prasad and lighting. But the contributions would be donated among the associates to help them celebrate the festival with similar enthusiasm as they are used to.”

The organiser would reach out to them for extending support at their door steps. It would also take help of an online banking facility to transfer the amount of money to the respective account of their associates. Chakraborty said, “We have details of all associates who have been rendering services to the organisation during Durgotsav. They would be contacted while the donation would be made.”
