Noida: 7X Welfare Team sensitizes residents for safe road rides

Noida: With an aim to minimise fatal accidents on roads in the city, a group of volunteers from 7X Welfare Team has been continuing with an awareness drive to sensitize residents for safe rides. They are reaching out to residents through their welfare association for educating them to wear helmets before commencement of rides.

Continuing the drive named 'No Helmet No Ride' in the past week, they stood at Dadri Surajpur Chhalera road in Sector 78, Noida, and educated commuters for safe rides. Holding cardboards in their hands, they attempted to sensitize them for avoiding drive in wrong directions, ensuring wearing of helmets before commencement of rides, and refraining from rash driving etc.

The drive has received full cooperation from commuters and traffic police as well. While the drive was in progress, they also halted for a few moments, educating fellow commuters for safe driving.

According to Giriraj Bahedia, a volunteer of the welfare team, it is an awareness drive where they are trying to reduce fatalities in the city. They go to the RWAs, market associations and AOAs to encourage practice of wearing helmets.

He said, “A pandemic is in progress and it claimed several lives. But data of fatalities that happened in the past two years is higher than that of deaths reported during a pandemic in the past six months. Considering it, they have launched an awareness drive called 'No Helmet No Ride' to bring this number down by creating awareness among all.”

They are continuing this drive from the past eight weeks, during which members of several markets and AOAs have been reaching out for motivating their residents for a safe ride.
