New Delhi: After registering a lesser number of new infections on the previous day, Delhi again recorded the new cases in the range of 3,000-4,000. Delhi on Tuesday recorded 3,227 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the cumulative tally to 2,76,325. The number of new cases went high as 59,102 tests were conducted on the previous day. 

After peaking till September 16, the new cases have come down relatively in the national capital. Delhi recorded 1,984 fresh cases on Monday, 3,292 on Sunday, 3,372 on Saturday, 3,827 on Friday, 3,834 on Thursday, 3,714 on Wednesday and 3,816 on Tuesday.  

59,102 tests were conducted, of which 9,576 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 49,526 were rapid antigen tests. 36,302 tests were conducted on Sunday, 51,416 tests on Saturday, 57,688 on Friday, 59,134 tests Thursday, 59,183 on Wednesday, 59,580 on Tuesday, 59,013 on Monday. 30, 20,158 tests have been done so far.

The day saw a lesser number of recoveries in comparison to the last few days. 2,778 patients recovered from the deadly disease in the city on Tuesday. A total of 2,43,481 patients have recovered in the national capital so far. The recovery rate slightly declined to 88.11 per cent from 88.13 per cent on the previous day.

The new cases outnumbered the recoveries in the last 24 hours. Active cases increased by 401 in the city. Delhi has now 27,524 active cases. It had crossed 30,000 mark when the cases peaked in the city.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus deaths continued to be a worrying factor in the city. The fatalities have increased of late. On Monday, 48 deaths were reported due to the deadly disease. The toll has now reached 5,320. There are 2,505 containment zones in the national capital.
