Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 89 new cases of Covid-19, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 12,842 on Tuesday. The death toll rose to 52 as one more person succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the official data.
The overall recoveries jumped to 11,248 after 141 patients were treated and discharged during the day. The recovery rate slightly improved to 87.58 per cent from 87.06 per cent on Monday. It was 84.17 per cent on last Tuesday, the data said.
The number of active cases slightly dropped to 1,542 from 1,599 on Monday, after the district recorded more single-day recoveries than the new cases of coronavirus.
The fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.40 per cent, down from 0.39 per cent on the previous day, the health bulletin said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 4,069 new cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 3,94,856, while the death toll rose to 5,715 as 63 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.
Of the state’s total caseload, there are 52,160 active cases, while 3,36,981 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 85.34 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.44 per cent.
