242 fresh coronavirus cases in Gurugram; recovery rate at 87.35 pc

Gurugram: Gurugram on Tuesday recorded 242 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the district’s total infection count to 20,417, according to the district health department.

The death toll also mounted to 171 as one more person succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours. The district has added 38 deaths linked to coronavirus in its tally since September 1, while it only had 9 deaths recorded in the month of August and 32 deaths in July, as per the data.

The day also saw recoveries of 340 patients, bringing the district’s overall recoveries to 17,835. This is the fifth successive day when the single-day recoveries exceeded the new cases of coronavirus in the district.

The recovery rate further improved to 87.35 per cent from 86.71 per cent on Monday. It was 86.29 per cent on Sunday, 85.60 per cent on Saturday, 84.45 per cent on Friday, 83.46 per cent on Thursday, 83.74 per cent on Wednesday, and 84.17 per cent on Tuesday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, the number of active cases further dropped to 2,411 from 2,510 on Monday. It was 2,560 on Sunday, 2,658 on Saturday, 2,842 on Saturday and 2,990 on Thursday.

Of the total active cases, 31 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 201 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 30 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 2,149 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 1,562 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,26,974, while the death toll rose to 1,356 as 25 more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, 1,10,814 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases stood at 14,804.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 87.27 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 6.73 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.07 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 29 days.
