New Delhi: In a meeting chaired by DDA Chairman Anil Baijal, it was decided to provide the applicants an option of preferential location in housing scheme. The applicants will be able to choose the unit’s floor location, corner location, facing green area and facing main road.

The applicants will have to pay preferential location charges, which will be between 1.5 per cent and 3 per cent of the total cost of the flat.

The new clause will be applicable in the DDA Housing Scheme to be launched in December. Around 1,000 flats will be on offer in the scheme.

“No preferential location charges for floor will be charged for allotment of ground/preferred floor to persons with disability,” said an official.

It was also decided to make Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) financially viable and feasible.

“Master Plan of Delhi 2021 provides for a minimum 60 per cent residential component of the land area for rehabilitation of squatters and maximum area for remunerative use to be 40 per cent,” said the official.

“The remunerative component could only be developed as per the land use and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) permissible under that category,” he added.
