Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally breached the mark of 13,000 as 205 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the district’s infection count to 13,047 on Wednesday, according to the official data.

The district has added 5,087 cases in its tally since September 1, while it only added 2,757 cases in the month of August and 2,899 in July.

Also, the death toll rose to 53 as one more person succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said. This was eighth casualty linked to coronavirus in the month.

The fatality rate among the positive cases remained at 0.40 per cent in the district.

The overall recoveries jumped to 11,502 after 254 patients were treated and discharged during the day with a recovery rate of 88.15 per cent, slightly up from 87.58 per cent on Tuesday, the data said.

The number of active cases further dropped to 1,492 from 1,542 on Tuesday. It was 1,615 on last Wednesday, as per the data.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 4,271 new cases, pushing the state’s infection count to 3,99,082, while the death toll rose to 5,784 as 69 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 50,883 active cases, while 3,42,415 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 85.80 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.44 per cent.
