Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 282 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the district’s cumulative tally to 20,699 on Wednesday, according to the district health department.

The death toll also jumped to 173 as two more persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours. Of whom, 124 patients had co-morbidities, while 49 patients had no known disease.

As many 284 patients recovered during the day, bringing the district’s overall recoveries to 18,119.

The recovery rate further improved to 85.53 per cent from 87.35 per cent on Tuesday. It was 86.71 per cent on Monday, 86.29 per cent on Sunday, 85.60 per cent on Saturday, 84.45 per cent on Friday, 83.46 per cent on Thursday, and 83.74 per cent on Wednesday, according to the statistics.

According to the health bulletin, the number of active cases further dropped to 2,407 from 2,411 on Tuesday, after the district recorded more single-day recoveries than new cases of coronavirus for the last six days. It was 2,510 on Monday, 2,560 on Sunday, 2,658 on Saturday, 2,842 on Saturday and 2,990 on Thursday.

Of the total active cases, 26 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 200 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 23 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 2,158 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 1,625 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,28,599, while the death toll rose to 1,382 as 26 more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, 1,12,877 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases stood at 14,340.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 87.77 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 6.72 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.07 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 30 days.
