GB Nagar records 217 new coronavirus cases; recovery rate at 88.32 pc

Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 217 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 13,264 on Thursday, according to the official data.

The district’s death toll jumped to 54 as one more person succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, the health bulletin said. The fatality rate among the positive cases now counted to 0.40 per cent.

In a relief, 214 patients were treated and discharged during the day, bringing the overall recoveries to 11,716 with a recovery rate of 88.32 per cent, slightly up from 88.15 per cent on Wednesday and 87.58 per cent on Tuesday, the data said.

The number of active cases in the district stood at 1,494, slightly up from Wednesday’s 1,492.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh breached the mark of 4,00,000 Covid-19 cases as 4,095 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s infection count to 4,03,101. The death toll rose to 5,864 as 80 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 50,378 active cases, while 3,46,859 patients have recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 86.04per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.45 per cent.
