GB Nagar records 178 new coronavirus cases; recoveries over 13,000

Noida: With 178 more people testing positive in the last 24 hours, Gautam Budh Nagar’s cumulative tally rose to 14,709 on Friday, according to the official data.

The district’s overall recoveries crossed the mark of 13,000 after 147 more patients were treated and discharged during the day, bringing the overall recoveries to 13,074, the health bulletin said.

The number of active cases in the district further rose to 1,579 from Thursday’s 1,548. It was 1,533 on Wednesday, 1,434 on Tuesday, 1,345 on Monday, 1,333 on Sunday, and 1,538 on Saturday, as per the data.

So far, the deadly disease has claimed 56 lives in the district and the fatality rate among the positive cases remained at 0.38 per cent.

The recovery rate counted to 88.88 per cent, slightly down from 88.96 per cent on Thursday. It was 88.94 per cent on Wednesday, 89.47 per cent on Tuesday, 89.93 per cent on Monday, and 89.88 per cent on Sunday, the data said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh detected 3,249 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s infection count to 4,30,666. The death toll rose to 6,293 as 48 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 41,287 active cases, while 3,83,086 patients have recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 88.95 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.46 per cent.
