Golf Avenue-I: Residents protest against water shortage

Noida: Residents of Golf Avenue-I, a highrise residential society in Sector 75, Noida, came out to protest against water shortage on Saturday, with which they have been grappling since the last two days.

They complained that they are not getting water supply from Friday. It caused huge inconvenience to everyone in the society, forcing them to raise voice against water scarcity.

Anguished over the issue, many residents came out of home and staged a protest in society against the developer.

Navin Mishra, a resident of the society said that they are struggling to get water for the second day in a row. He said, “Somehow, we managed yesterday assuming that it would resume today. But it is yet to be started.”

While maintaining physical distance, residents took out a rally within society. They raised slogans against the developer, demanding resumption of water supply. Many were seen carrying water buckets from the ground floor.

Mishra said, “Residents have been carrying water from the ground floor as their taps run dry. It is tough for each of us to carry water from here for routine work. But with no other option, residents are doing it to take care of the need.”

He complained that they have also contacted maintenance staff for improving the service. But they didn't take it seriously and residents have been facing difficulty.

He said, “We have come out to protest against the lethargic approach of the developer to solve the problem.”
