Residents of Glaxo Apartments, a residential society in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension, celebrated the 25th anniversary of the society on Saturday.
The society was established in 1991 and completed 25 years on July 30. Residents turned the parking area into an auditorium and children also participated in the celebration. They danced on a makeshift stage while the residents cheered and applauded their performance.
SK Bahuguna, the president of the society, and Anil Bhasin, vice-president, began the celebrations by welcoming guests. SK Jha, additional commissioner of police, was the chief guest and Sandhya Verma, the area councillor, was the guest of honour on the occasion.
During the event, Bahuguna said, "Glaxo Apartments is one of the best and our residents are thoughtful and intellectual. I am thankful to them for having always supported the management committee."
HC Joshi, a founding member of Glaxo Apartments, was honoured by Bahuguna. Other members of managing committee, including AK Rajpoot, Ashok Sharma, Lalita Dobhal, RK Manchanda and NV Ramnath, were felicitated with awards for their contribution to the society.
The managing committee also awarded Prem Pandey, SK Mittal, RK Dowal, Vinketa Chelanan, and Ashok Sharma (residents of the society) for their contribution towards the society’s welfare.
