Gurugram: Gurugram recorded 241 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, taking the district’s infection count to 23,527, according to the district health department.

The overall recoveries jumped to 20,949 after 285 patients were treated and discharged during the day. The recovery rate counted to 89.04 per cent, slightly up from Saturday’s 88.74 per cent, the health bulletin said.

The number of active cases in the district dropped to 2,394 from 2,438 on Saturday after the single-day recoveries exceeded the daily new cases of coronavirus in the district.

Of the total active cases, 17 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 153 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 16 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 2,208 patients are in home isolation.

So far, the deadly disease has claimed 184 lives in the district, of whom, 133 patients had co-morbidities, while 51 patients had no known disease, it said.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 1,065 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,42,155, while the death toll rose to 1,579 as seven more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, 1,30,003 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases stood at 10,573.
