Gurugram’s coronavirus tally breaches mark of 24,000 with 250 fresh cases

Gurugram: The Covid-19 infection in Gurugram seems to be slowing down with the doubling rate of infected patients reaching 70 days, while it was at 59 days as on September 30, according to the district health department.

As on Tuesday, Gurugram’s cumulative tally breached the mark of 24,000 cases as 250 fresh cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the district infection count to 24,051, the health bulletin said.

The death toll climbed to 187 after two more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours. Of whom, 135 patients had co-morbidities, while 52 patients had no known disease, it said.

As many as 208 patients were treated and discharged during the day, bringing the overall recoveries to 21,390. The recovery rate counted to 88.93 per cent, slightly down from Monday’s 88.99, as per the data.

The number of active cases in the district further rose to 2,474 from 2,434 on Monday. Of the total active cases, 9 are hospitalised at dedicated Covid hospitals, while 151 are under observation at dedicated Covid healthcare centres. 11 are under observation at district Covid care centre whereas 2,303 patients are in home isolation.

Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 1,081 new cases, pushing the state’s tally to 1,44,302, while the death toll rose to 1,601 as nine more persons succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, 1,32,382 patients have been recovered so far, while the total number of active cases stood at 10,319.

The state’s recovery rate counted to 91.74 per cent, while the Covid-19 positivity rate counted to 6.43 per cent. The fatality rate stood at 1.11 per cent. The state’s doubling rate of coronavirus cases is every 38 days.
