Noida Authority plans major facelift of parks soon

Noida: Residents of Noida have a reason to be happy while visiting neighbourhood parks as the Noida Authority steps up with a plan of providing proper maintenance to all the parks in the city.

It ordered concerned officers to begin with a thorough survey of available amenities and compile a detailed report of these parks. Officials were told to report the state of available amenities, cleanliness, and greenery etc.

The decision to provide better maintenance was an outcome of a review meeting held on Tuesday at the administrative office of the authority in Sector 6.

While chairing the meeting, Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority directed officials to prepare detailed reports of facilities that are not in good condition and which are to be improved for the convenience of visitors.

She also ordered higher authorities from the department of horticulture that bidding should be completed on time to ensure that upgradation and maintenance of facilities in all parks are not delayed.

The authority has been receiving complaints from residents regarding poor maintenance of gymnastic equipment installed in several parks. Considering residents' requests to improve these facilities, officials were directed to look into them and get it resolved at the earliest.

They were also told to begin the development of those parks for which bidding was already finalised.

To enhance green cover at these parks, the authority already plans to plant about 6 lakh saplings this year. Officials were told to prepare rosters and do sapling plantation to achieve the numbers, targeted for the ongoing season.

Currently, there are several parks where amenities are in an abysmal state. They are not maintained by on duty gardeners deployed at different parks in the city. The higher authority was told to look into the matter and ensure that they (gardeners) are reporting on a regular basis.
