Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 140 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 15,567 on Thursday, according to the official data.

As per the state health bulletin, the death toll jumped to 64 with one more person succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours. However, there was a discrepancy in the district death toll data released by the state health department. On Wednesday, the district death toll was 61.

The day saw the recoveries of 242 patients, bringing the district’s overall recoveries to 13,980 with a recovery rate of 89.80 per cent, slightly up from 89.63 per cent on Wednesday, it said.

The number of active cases in the district further dropped to 1,523 from 1,528 on Wednesday. It was 1,557 on Tuesday, 1,579 on Monday, 1,615 on Sunday, 1,594 on Saturday, 1,579 on Friday, and 1,548 on Thursday, as per the data.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 2,728 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the state’s infection count to 4,47,383. The death toll rose to 6,543 as 36 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours, the state health bulletin said.

Of the state’s total caseload, there are 36,295 active cases, while 4,04,545 patients have been recovered so far. The state’s recovery rate counted to 90.42 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.46 per cent.
